Westward

This gas station has long since been replaced by a newer one located farther west; which in turn was replaced by an even newer one farther to the west. Here I see a symbol of both the strength and the weakness of mankind: our constant thirst for progress and our careless abandoning, and thus waste, of what we leave behind.

Stop. Breathe.

I believe the "that's not a knife" scene from Crocodile Dundee was filmed here. This was taken in New York City in October of 2014.

The Payson Temple

I passed this view of the nearly-completed Payson Temple as I was driving back to Southern Utah on I-15. The light was so stunning, that I got off the next exit and backtracked several miles to find a vantage point to capture it. The setting and architecture of this building are both among my favorites.

The Inner Vessel

I've seen a composition along these lines once before, and I can't remember where. I wish I could credit the person who thought of it, but I've wanted to try it ever since. It's an attempt to reflect how sacred the temple is to the LDS people.

Reflected Gold

I've felt challenged to capture this Temple during the fall colors season, so I stopped at it on my way home tonight. It's always a rewarding experience to be out in the golden light when it's 70 degrees outside.
